Fernleigh Bar & Kitchen

Come for brunch, stay for lunch, or settle in with a glass of wine after a day in Chichester. Our kitchen puts good food at the centre of Fernleigh, with a seasonal menu made for everything from a quick bite to a long lunch with friends. You’ll also find excellent coffee, carefully chosen wines and cocktails at the bar.

Find a spot in the bar or Georgian Room, or head up to the light-filled Blue Lounge when it’s available. Our team will make you feel at home, whether it’s your first visit or you’re becoming a regular. Dogs are welcome in the bar and lounge areas, so they can come along after a walk by the city walls. Please note that dogs cannot enter Little Cowdray.

Good food, close to home

Fernleigh is proudly independent. Wherever possible, we buy from Sussex farmers, growers and producers, choosing ingredients for their quality and what’s in season. It gives our kitchen plenty to work with and helps us support other independent businesses close to home.

Meet Claire, our Head Chef

Claire spent many years training and working in some of London’s best-known Michelin-starred kitchens. At Fernleigh, she brings that experience to food you can enjoy any day of the week: thoughtful, full of flavour and made with care.

She loves working with seasonal ingredients and letting good produce speak for itself. She’s also a keen forager and enjoys creating vegetarian and vegan dishes that are every bit as satisfying as the rest of the menu.

Brunch and lunch are served daily, with food available until 3.45pm. Booking is recommended, especially if you’re joining us for brunch or lunch.

Sunday Hours: 10am – 3pm

Wine, cocktails and other bar drinks are available throughout our opening hours.
